about
This was an experiment in live recording that turned into an unworkable mess.
The original guitar loop is the one that appears first and holds it all together (to some degree). Drums are live, performed on a 90s drum machine bought from a cash converters and a set of plastic maracas which provoked this period of creativity to some degree (the drum machine is a Roland of some kind, I don't have it here now).
After this, friends came together and got messy whilst playing with ideas on guitar, keys and said drum machine to work around this original loop. Things were minimally edited and came to a head when my computer refused to process the track any longer. This is the state in which it remains.
The impressively gothic guitar improvisation which ends the track is the work of George Maybury (as, in fact, are many of its most interesting flourishes), a man of unbounded talent whose ludicrous face adorns this release against his will.
